Experience the Thrills and Chills of Little Shop of Horrors at Bord Gais Theatre

Updated: Aug 5

As soon as @bordgaisenergytheatre announced the upcoming production of Little Shop of Horrors, tickets were immediately bought.

This musical is a dark rock horror comedy with music by @alanmenken and story by @howardashman. The story follows Seymour, a hapless florist who an orphan living on skid row and Audrey his coworker at a run down flower shop operated by Mr. Mushnik.

This Irish production was purely outstanding, from the set, choreography, costumes, casting, lighting, live band down to how perfect each role was cast.

The cast from the trio of street urchins, Mr Mushnik, Orin, Audrey II puppeteer and voice, all helped bring this musical to live on that stage.

A particular shoutout and applause has to go to the 2 main leads @just_jacx as Audrey, a rising star, who was able to bring the complex catcher of Audrey to live on that stage and to @davidoreillyofficial as Seymour. David as Seymour, he portrayed the character with the charm, comedy and acting of Rick Moranis with elements of @joshgad thrown in for good measure while still able to make the character his own.

This production and the musical itself, can’t recommend highly enough and everyone should see it.

The songs and music @alanmenken stick with you long after the musical is finished and you’re still humming the songs on the bus journey home ..

This is @bordgaisenergytheatre first full scale musical produced in house and hopefully won’t be the last
